Some say he came into the world with a fork in one hand and a bottle of KRAFT Barbecue Sauce in the other. Truth is, Mark “Boss Hogg” Kennedy's skills in the barbecue pit were legendary, as was his passion for making people smile. "Boss Hogg" was the original Pitmaster, and KRAFT Barbecue Sauce was in every one of his winning dishes.

The Boss was just 8 years old, smokin' ribs in the hills of Kentucky, the first time he served up his barbecue to 100 people at his local church. His mom had KRAFT in the kitchen, so that's what he used.

In the late '90s, Kennedy started catering out of a leased kitchen in Louisville, and soon after, word of his BBQ made with KRAFT sauces spread like wildfire. He decided to hit the road and compete against the best — and during his very first year on the BBQ circuit, he won 1st Place in Barbecue Sauce at the Benton County Fair BBQ Cook-off in Ashland, Mississippi; 1st Place in Pork Ribs at the Buffalo Run Casino in Council Bluffs, Iowa; and 2nd Place in Pork Ribs at the Dodge City Days BBQ Competition in Dodge City, Kansas; along with a trough of other awards all over the country.

Ultimately, KRAFT Barbecue Sauce took Kennedy and his team to the World BBQ Championship, where his ribs beat out 73 domestic and international teams.

Boss Hogg was a great ambassador for KRAFT Barbecue Sauce, and a true Champion in every sense of the word.
